 | | Roses is located at the upper end of the longest beach of the Costa Brava, the Gulf of Roses. From the fishing village at the beginning it has become a considerable town with subsequent industrial and wholesale market areas developed without losing the old character at the center. Historically, Roses was mentioned hiostorically in the 16th century and was the base of the Earl of Empúries to protect against France. At the same time it was the starting point of the "spread" of the Catalan people in the whole Mediterranean region. |
